Prelim Task Script

This is our Initial Prelim Plan

For our initial planning we had wanted to produce a variety of genres and story line that fitted perfectly with the genre, then when completed we would choose the best, most substantial idea and act on it. we realised however that this would result in an over complicated plan and it would be more beneficial and understandable to us if we simplified our idea by expanding on one single idea.

That is why we developed our improved initial plan.

This is our improved initial planning

Prelim Task Script

Sonny:

{Walks through the automatic doors in main street into, 'The egg', towards the benches on the left of the shot and sits down}

"Hey you!"

Conor:
{Sitting on the bench opposite him- on the right- Slowly looks up}
"Yeah?"

Sonny:
{ Sarcastic and exasperated tone}
"So... what you here for?"

Conor:
{Looks directly at Sonny- replies with a slight  sarcasm}
"Well, I kind of broke a Year 7 kid's arm"
{Shrugs shoulders}

Sonny:
{Surprised/Shocked}
"WOW"

Conor:
{Sarcastic Laugh}
"Ha, yeah. What about you? What you here for?"

Sonny:
"I 'accidentally' dropped a crisp packet on the floor- of all things."

Conor:
"Hardcore man. Hardcore."

The justification for our male actors is because we decided to conform to the stereotypes of young males and their 'love' for delinquency. We decided to do this because we felt that our audience would be able to associate and identify more with troublesome males than females.

Our use of mise-en-scene consists of our setting choice and costuming.
We deliberately chose our location because it enables us to cater for background noise, due to us knowing that our particular area is likely to be quiet, therefore reducing the likelihood of excessive background noises.
Also as a result of us filming during lesson times we know that silence is likely and disturbance by fellow students is unlikely.

This is my storyboard, which I created with the Prelim Task in mind, in regards to the camera movements/Shots and the length of time each scene will be shown for, as well as the kinds of editing I want, such as the use of slow motion, overt editing in shot 2.
The dialogue between the two boys is also included as well as the kinds of sounds I want heard during the scenes, such as the non-diegetic music that begins to play in shot 2 but becomes diegetic in shot 3.
